Kanika Dutt

I am a law student. Law for me is not only a course I am studying but a field I am extremely passionate about. According to me being is lawyer is about giving back to the society. I will be done with my graduation in 2022 and will apply for masters. Since I was a child I have lived in different states in India and have adapted to change as that is the only constant. Learning about different cultures and people is something I love doing. I have always been different from the crowd I grew up in.

Being vocal about my thoughts and beliefs is a part of my personality. I have always been passionate about studying subjects like politics and human rights. Since I was a child I started educating myself with the tragedies of holocaust and the colonization's done by the British. I have grown-up all-over India and have experienced different cultures and people. Reading and writing have always been my main interest.

To this date I cannot go to sleep without reading a book. As I grew, my interests for terms like feminism, racism, fascism grew from curiosity to want of more knowledge. I am not well versed in a specific area but I would like be a voice for people who cannot be heard. I wish to travel to third world countries and learn about the status of people. I figured law would be the best field to gain knowledge about the national law and international law.

I am glad that I ad resources available so I could study. I would like to give back to the world. I feel writing is a very powerful way to motivate and influence a crowd. A good writer can agitate a crowd for the right or wrong. Where writing is a skill, knowledge is a boon. I wish to possess both so I can write and let my words reach people. I have grown up without an idol. I have never looked up to someone. I always thought I would be someone people look up to and I hope that comes true one day.
