I grew up in a small town in the state of Karnataka. I completed my graduation in law from Alliance University, Bangalore. The transition from a small-town girl to an independent girl who lives alone in a big city was quite challenging. The addition of a culture change, I’d rather call it a ‘culture shock’ was not as easy to deal with either. The lessons I learnt from these challenges contribute vastly to the person I am now and the beliefs I hold. In lieu of personal and societal experiences, I have come to call myself an advocate of equal rights. I believe that equal rights and opportunities are human rights and no person should have to fight for them. I want to use my position as a lawyer to make these changes in the society, to provide equal opportunities to everyone in every field. One day, I hope to exist in a world that is free from stereotypes and prejudice and a world where one is never inferior from the other.
