I, Dr. Dipankar Debnath, presently associated with the University of North Bengal as an Assistant Professor-in-Law under the Department of Law. I am a permanent resident of Siliguri located within the District of Darjeeling. Siliguri being my birth place, I had started my academic activities here in this small city which stretches from Margaret Sister Nivedita English School to Siliguri College of Commerce to University of North Bengal. Doing law have been my passion since my Higher Secondary days. After completing higher secondary I had got the opportunity to take admission in the University law College under the University of North Bengal. After successfully completing my LL.b in the year 1995 with first class third, I had joined in Siliguri court as a junior lawyer for few years then I decided to complete my post graduation. I did my LL.M from the same University in the year 2000. My academic career started in that year immediately after the completion of LL.M when I was appointed as Lecturer-in-Law in Sikkim Government Law College, Gangtok. After working there only for one year I grabbed the opportunity to teach in Shillong Law College where I was selected in an interview. After few years of teaching in the Shillong Law College, I got an opportunity to enhance my academic excellence in ICFAI, MBA Institute located in my home town. I taught there for few years but unfortunately it had to shut down due to some internal issues. Subsequently, I was selected to teach in the Indian Institute of Legal Studies located in Siliguri as Assistant Professor-in-Law. Later on I was also appointed for the prestigious Teacher-in-Charge post of the Institute. In the institute, I got the opportunity to explore my ability in different activities other than taking classes. I was the organizer or member of different committees involved in different extra-curricular activities. Such activity includes organizing the seminars, symposiums, Moot court competitions, training programme.
