Gargi Ganguli

My name is Gargi Ganguli and I'm a 4th year student of B.Com L.L.B (Hons) from Sister Nivedita University, Kolkata. I live in Newtown, Kolkata but my hometown is in Siliguri. My specialization lies in the field of Corporate Laws and wish to become a successful Lawyer in the future.

I am currently working as an intern under a senior advocate at the High Court of Calcutta and this article is my second published article in your website. While growing up I took part and won many debate and extempore competitions, hosted various events of the school that helped me to built my confidence, oration skills and made me comfortable while public speaking.

I love reading books, sketching, painting and making craft art. I would pen down my thoughts and write various articles for my school magazine. I was also selected in the Editorial Board as a student editor of my school. The biggest exposure I got was when I participated and secured 1st position in a creative writing competition between various schools of North Bengal and North Eastern India organized by Shri Ram Chandra Mission, Fulbari.

Where the students were supposed to write 2500 words article on the famous quote of William Shakespeare, "This is above all; to thine own self be true." within two hours. I was awarded with a certification of excellence and a gold medel and my parents along with my school's Principal were invited for a grand lunch. I excelled in academics till class 10th and passed my CBSE board examination with 9.4 CGPA.

After that I took up science and made a mistake there. I overlooked my creative side and my strengths but never the less it helped me to think and approach everything practically. While growing up I never aspired to become a Lawyer but with growing time I got attracted to the dynamic profession of Law and now I'm glad that I made the best decision.
