Comparison Between India's Central Bureau Of Investigation & The Federal Bureau Of Investigation, United States
While both the organizations, The Central Bureau Of Investigation and the
Federal
Bureau Of Investigation are formed to tackle corruption and crime, They were set
up for two different purposes.
The FBI was initially set up to go after communism, while the CBI was meant to
tackle corruption. the FBI has legal authority for wire trapping and monitoring
of internet activity. The FBI was then armed with greater authority by virtue of
Intelligence Authorization Act 2004, which gave it unprecedented power to secure
information from financial institutions without authority from the court. But
giving the CBI such authority may not be desirable in our scenario.
