Our Indian constitution reflects people's wants & needs, principles, and
values. The foundation of the constitution is secularism. The new liberal India
has a liberal constitution that equally views every citizen and grants them
equal rights. Therefore, educational literacy is crucial for underprivileged &
backward class people to be aware of the constitution and their lawful rights &
duties. Though educational rights are commonly provided to one and all still
discrimination and inequality can be witnessed in society specifically in the
lower class.
Constitutional Importance:
Father of the constitution Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar once in an assembly said:
"However good a constitution may be, it is sure to turn out bad because those
who are called to work it, happen to be a bad lot. However bad a constitution
may be, it may turn out to be good if those who are called to work it, happen to
be a good lot."
To make it count everyone has to have faith, courtesy, and devotion towards it.
People should sincerely abide by the law & order. If they will solely perform
their lawful responsibilities and duties towards the community then the
constitutional aim can be fulfilled. In current times, the media has this
crucial responsibility to inform people about their rights and aware them of
their legal responsibilities.
Need:
To become knowledgeable and live a well-respected life, it's important to take
the support of education as it saves from various events that a person may
encounter such as exploitation, slavery, deceit, injustice, etc. In earlier
times the basic needs were food, shelter, and clothes but now education and
health should also be counted equally important in them. We as humans always
crave to get our needs fulfilled.
People with hectic lives don't have much time to look after themselves. The
government should fulfill the fundamental needs of the people and have concerns
like they have during elections. They should run various activities and
campaigns through different events to introduce different laws, schemes, etc.
for the public welfare and awareness regarding their rights.
It is the responsibility of the government to safeguard civilian lives and their
dignity so that the number of illiterate population can be reduced and crimes
that take place due to a lack of awareness and knowledge of the law can be taken
care of. To do so, actively responsible government officials from the respective
departments should be called, and through projects, and plans the work should be
executed. Also, schemes should be delegated well among the departments. This is
the need of the hour.
Constitution & Education:
Our constitution is famous worldwide for its continuous evolution, it is lawful,
liberal, fraternal, secular, scientifically rational, and based on humanitarian
grounds. Sadly, despite all this in our nation casteism, racism, sexism,
asymmetry, and religious discrimination are observed on a large scale and are
blindly & openly being followed by society. Amid this only vulnerable,
exploited, illiterate, underprivileged, deprived, neglected, poor class people
follow norms sincerely and work towards fulfilling their lawful obligations.
For
instance, people from Naxalite tribal localities vote during the election period
considering it as their legal obligation more than just their constitutional
right despite the uncertainty of lethal attacks and warnings. In such a danger,
even an election officer is frightened to work but they still choose to do it.
The time for election is between 7 am to 3 pm despite this the voter's
percentage bar in such a region reaches up to or above 70 %.
Regardless of life
risks, every civilian completes their duty and abides by the law & order. The
lives of tribal people aren't safe and they are always prone to attacks. They
are still not respected and valued as they deserve nor do they get any legal aid
properly or on time by the government. Keep this aside they are not even viewed
as normal humans and treated accordingly in the first place. They face injustice
often.
On one side there's a system & on the other side there are Naxalites and
somewhere in between there's this community still stuck and deprived of growth,
their lawful rights that have been granted by the constitution from the day they
were born are unknown to them. Each year numeral schemes are passed for the sake
of such communities but are executed only on papers in most cases and not in
reality.
They don't fight for their rights if anyone faces injustice in that
scenario justice is barely served to them. All they do is wait for years and
hope that they might be heard. Without proper knowledge of rights, they can't
fight for themselves or raise their voice against injustice. To be aware of
their rights and responsibilities, they don't have proper knowledge or
understanding of it nor the means to do so.
Civilians should be given chance to
avail their constitutional rights along with education, they should be provided
security against their life as per the constitution as those rights are granted
to them. They deserve to live a peaceful respectful life. Through growth and
development, they can be uplifted and the standard of living of such people can
be improved as the doors to careers will get open. To ensure this the
constitutional authorities and civilians are equally responsible.
''
Political democracy can only survive if the foundation of social democracy is
laid'', says Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
"The earth doesn't float on the head of 'Sheshnaag'. but on the palms of the Dalits and the toilers'', says Anna Bhau Sathe.
Therefore, underprivileged people need to be aware of their rights. To create
awareness of laws spreading knowledge and proper comprehension of law are two
important aspects. To know more about the constitution every year
'constitutional week' should be celebrated with different mottos. Necessary
events on various levels should be organized, by doing so it can act as a good
medium that can help to make people aware of the constitution and the
educational rights and will make them knowledgeable in this regard.
Educational Rights:
Educational rights are now fundamental rights. Through The constitution
(86th Amendment) Act, 2002 since 12th December 2002. It has inserted a new
Article 21A named 'Right To Education' to ensure free and compulsory education
of children. Another Article 45 has been added which states the provisions for
early childhood care and education. Article 51A clause (k) is also added under
the same act.
'Education is transformation'. It is responsible for a person's development.
Mahatma Phule and Savitri bai Phule's educational contributions are a great
source of inspiration and motivation for all of us. Savitribai had opened doors
for women's education. Women's educational development started after her
initiative.
"Without education, wisdom was lost; without wisdom, morals were lost; without
morals, development was lost; without development, wealth was lost; without
wealth, the Shudras were ruined; so much has happened through lack of
education," says Mahatma Phule.
"It is the education which is the right weapon to cut the social slavery and it
is education which will enlighten the downtrodden masses to come up and gain
social status, economic betterment, and political freedom," says Dr. B.R.
Ambedkar.
One of the three principles of freedom, equality, and fraternity, even any one
of these is lost, it will seem to have failed the very purpose of
democracy. "learn, organize and struggle", says Dr. B.R.Ambedkar.
Rashtrasanth Gadhge Maharaj used to sing and tell interpretations of education
in simple forms which are highly known as 'Kirtans'. He says, "Without education
human is just a stone."
Therefore, everyone should get a chance to get their education as it is their
lawful right. Education liberates people from slavery and exploitation, it also
helps them to differentiate between right and wrong, it teaches about injustice,
and unlawful activities, and gives a purpose to their life. Education also
improves their intelligence and identifies and brushes up on their skills. It
helps them to create their own identity and get recognition in the society.
Education is a beautiful combination of knowledge and thoughts. Mere knowledge
is of no use but everything useful is indeed knowledge. Education results in
improving a person by their overall development and it build character. The
seriousness of awareness lacks thus almost 3.5 cr students aren't taking
education. To create benefits and develop a capable nation, no one should be
uneducated and make sure government society. only then fundamentalism of
education will be successful.
