Section 164 Judicial Confession

Judicial confession is admissible in evidence and is a relavent fact:
Further held , judgement of conviction can also be based on confession if it is found to be truthful, deliberate and voluntary and if it clearly proved - voluntary Nature of confession depends upon whether there was any threat, inducement or promise and it's truth is judged on the basis of the entire prosecution case.

Retracted confession, however must be looked upon with greater concern unless the reason s given for having made in the first instance are on the face of them are false.
